WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) joined President Donald J. Trump for a roundtable discussion on rural healthcare, the Rural Health Transformation Fund, and their plans to lower the cost of healthcare. Rep. Bresnahan was given the opportunity to speak, and his remarks can be viewed here.
"When you think about Northeastern Pennsylvania, clinics and rural hospitals are the backbones of our community," said Rep. Bresnahan. "The targeted investments included in the Rural Health Transformation Fund are going to transform rural healthcare for our region, our state, and our nation. Under new leadership in Washington, rural America will no longer be overlooked."
In addition to Rep. Bresnahan, roundtable participants included Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz, Senator Dan Sullivan (AK), and Representative Mike Lawler (NY-17).
Rep. Bresnahan has been a leader on rural healthcare. In December, he welcomed Administrator Oz to Scranton, PA, for a discussion on the Rural Health Transformation Fund. At the end of the month, he applauded the fund's $193 million investment in Pennsylvania healthcare.
