What you need to know: The San Pedro office has reopened to the public today. Most customers can save a trip to the office and do their DMV business online at dmv.ca.gov.
Sacramento - The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that the San Pedro office at 1511 N. Gaffey St. has reopened to the public.
The office closed on April 30 due to flooding. Prior to reopening, the department had the office dried, repaired and inspected to ensure the safety of team members and the public.
Before Going to a DMV Office - Try Online First
Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit. The DMV encourages customers to use its online services and other service channels to complete transactions, such as eligible driver's license and vehicle registration renewals. Customers can also use the Service Advisor on the DMV website to learn about options to complete DMV tasks.
Go Paperless - To sign up for paperless vehicle registration and driver's license renewal notices, sign in or create a secure online account at dmv.ca.gov to opt in.
