15 January 2026, Chișinău - State Secretary Valeriu Mija held a meeting with the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Moldova, Michaela Guerard Šimák, on the occasion of the conclusion of her mandate.
During the meeting, the State Secretary commended Michaela Guerard Šimák's professional activity throughout her mandate, which coincided with a complex period for Moldova, marked by the war in Ukraine and the intensification of hybrid threats.
The discussions highlighted the approval of the Individual Partnership Programme between the Republic of Moldova and NATO for 2025-2028, contributions to public diplomacy, NATO's role in international security, and the benefits of cooperation with Moldova, including the organization of events in 2024 marking 30 years of the Partnership.
Michaela Guerard Šimák, in turn, expressed her gratitude to the Moldovan authorities for their cooperation and reiterated NATO's commitment to continue collaboration through the Liaison Office, with a focus on expanding public diplomacy activities and the Professional Development Programme (PDP) for the governmental sector.
