Key Dates

Oct. 2 Ballots are mailed and 24-hour drop boxes open.
Oct. 19 Vote Centers open for in-person voting and voter assistance.
Oct. 26 Last day to request a replacement ballot by mail. After this date, visit a Vote Center for a replacement.
Oct. 26 Last recommended day to return your ballot by mail. After this date, return your ballot by drop box or at a Vote Center.
Nov. 3 Election Day
Ballots must be received no later than 7 p.m. If voting in person, you must be in line by 7 p.m.

2026 City of Boulder Ballot Measures

Boulder voters will be able to weigh in on four ballot measures in the upcoming election. City of Boulder ballot measures include: 

  • Building Boulder Together: Recreation and Safety Bond 
  • Debt Limit City Charter Language Change 
  • Residential Vacancy Excise Tax
  • Bargaining Rights Union Firefighters in City Charter

2026 Mayoral and City Council Candidates

Boulder voters will elect the Mayor and five City Council members in the upcoming election.

Nineteen candidates are running for the six open seats: six candidates are running for Mayor, and 13 candidates are running for five City Council seats.

Ranked Choice Voting

The upcoming election will be the second time the City of Boulder will conduct Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) to elect its Mayor.

Ranked Choice Voting is a voting method that allows voters to rank election contest candidates in order of preference when there are three or more candidates.
