Bakersfield Resident Sentenced for Promotion and Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials

The Attorney General's Office today announced that Jude Stone, 20, of Bakersfield, Vermont, was sentenced in Vermont Superior Court, Franklin Criminal Division, after pleading guilty to one felony count of possession of child sexual abuse material and one felony count of promoting a recording of child sexual conduct.

The Court, Judge Mary Morrissey presiding, sentenced the defendant to two to five years in prison, all suspended with eight years of probation. Mr. Stone's probation conditions mandate that he completes sex offender programming, limit his contact with children, and restrict his access to the internet.

If Mr. Stone violates the terms of his probation, he may face up to five years in prison. Mr. Stone is also required to register as a sex offender for 10 years after the completion of his sentence.
