The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $2,216,394 against 55 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: 20 air quality, one Edwards Aquifer, one industrial hazardous waste, one industrial wastewater discharge, six multi-media, 17 municipal wastewater discharges, one petroleum storage tank, three public water systems, and two water quality.
Default orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: one petroleum storage tank, one public water system, and one water quality.
In addition, on Oct. 6, the executive director approved penalties totaling $218,508 against 45 entities.
