Watch Riley Green Make 'Painful' Decision On 'The Voice': 'I Knew This Was Gonna Be Tough'

Riley Green faced a "painful" decision on The Voice.

The country star and first-time coach said he knew it would be "tough" to choose between Brandy Neelly and duo Ferryn & Brinkley during the Battles on the competition show. The three singers delivered a powerful rendition of "Mama's Broken Heart," an anthem Miranda Lambert released in 2011. The performance earned praise from coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Queen Latifah.

"First off, the performance was great, and I was so glad that I got to be a part of it, (and) somewhat have a small role creatively and get to rehears with y'all," Green said. "And I knew it was going to be really good just from that acoustic setting and all the energy y'all had. Y'all are all three performers, and it was that much better. There was so much attitude in that. It was great. it was a really great version of that song.

"I knew this was gonna be tough," he continued. "Ferryn & Brinkley, there's two of y'all. Y'all are family, y'all have harmonies that are going to be extremely tight, and they were. You know, it is an advantage. Brandy, but you did make me a cake. So, there's an advantage there, too. You know, and it's going to be painful for me either way."
