DFC Head of Investments Travels to Libreville Strengthening Bilateral Ties

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation Head of Investments Conor Coleman recently traveled to Libreville, Gabon to attend the inauguration of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. This significant event marked a new chapter in Gabon's political landscape.

During his visit to Libreville, Mr. Coleman was part of a U.S. delegation led by Senior Advisor for Africa Massad Boulos and U.S. Ambassador to U.S. Embassy Libreville Vernelle FitzPatrick. The delegation met with President Oligui Nguema and other Gabonese officials, during which Mr. Coleman emphasized DFC's interest in exploring future U.S. private sector investment opportunities in region. In addition, he discussed specific possibilities between Gabon's priorities and those of the Trump administration. DFC also met with the private sector to discuss investment prospects in Gabon and highlighted DFC's financial tools designed to facilitate and support investment initiatives.

The United States and Gabon have a positive, growing relationship that has endured for over 60 years and will be characterized by increased economic and security engagement. In light of this partnership, Mr. Coleman extended his congratulations to President Oligui Nguema, recognizing the significance of his leadership for Gabon's future. He also commended the people of Gabon for their successful democratic transition culminating in the presidential election.
