ICYMI: Longshot Lopez Struggles in Last Gov Debate, Marx’s Absence Says it All

GRAND JUNCTION - Last Saturday's Club 20 gubernatorial debate showed exactly what Republican Victor Marx is offering Colorado voters in November: an empty microphone.

Democratic nominee, Attorney General Phil Weiser, met conservative hardline candidate Greg Lopez to discuss critical issues, but Republican nominee Victor Marx was nowhere to be found - letting Colorado voters down once again.

In what's likely to be the final gubernatorial debate of the general election, Longshot Lopez floundered, caught lying about his ultra-conservative record in Congress and attempting to pivot away from his own scandal-filled past. AG Weiser was laser-focused on the issues that matter, especially to rural voters: water use, defending our Colorado River rights, standing up for small business and what it means to show up for the Western Slope as governor.

"The people of Colorado have a lot of questions for Republican Victor Marx - and Marx won't be answering any of them," said Colorado Democratic Party spokesperson Kailee Stiles. "Voters want stability and a bright future for our state, and Democrats are the ones ready to get to work on real solutions. The extremist MAGA agenda we know to expect from Republican Victor Marx or hardline conservative Greg Lopez has no place in the Governor's Office."
