Gov. Beshear: Kentucky Will Honor Both Presidents Carter and Trump Monday

Flags will begin and end the day at half-staff on Monday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 20, 2025) - Gov. Andy Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be raised to full-staff at 11:30 a.m. EST on Monday, Jan. 20, and remain there until the conclusion of President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony. Once the presidential inauguration ceremony has ended, flags should immediately be returned to half-staff where they are to remain until sunset on Tuesday, Jan. 28, in honor of former President Jimmy Carter.

Gov. Beshear encourages individuals, businesses and organizations throughout the commonwealth to join in these tributes. Flag status information is available at governor.ky.gov/flag-status.
