Carbone Elected to State Association Board

Austin- Crystal Carbone of Pearland ISD has been elected to a two-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 4, Position C. The election was held during the Association's 2025 Delegate Assembly on Sept. 13 in Houston.

Carbone is president of the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees and has served as a trustee since 2018.

Her professional career spans a range of roles, from providing mental health services to adults and adolescents to coordinating research on adolescent treatment and addiction. Carbone previously served as a licensed specialist in school psychology for Pearland ISD, where she worked closely with students and families to address mental health and educational needs. She holds a dual master's degree in clinical and school psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

As an active leader, Carbone earned the Master Trustee designation in 2022 through the Leadership TASB program and was named the 2021 Pearland Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year. She is currently serving as the secretary-treasurer of the Gulf Coast Area Association of School Boards. She previously served as a founding board member of the Pearland ISD Education Foundation, vice-chair of the Adult Reading Center, chair of the Pearland Library Board, vice-president of the Pearland Silverlake Lions Club, and member of the Brazoria County Child Welfare Board.
