Prime Minister Andrey Gurov is attending the second Nuclear Energy Summit that is taking place today in Paris. The Prime Minister was welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron and by Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Summit is dedicated to strengthening international cooperation in the development of safe and secure nuclear energy for civil purposes in the context of growing electricity demand, transition to a low-carbon economy and pursuit of energy sovereignty.
Heads of State and Government, members of international organizations, financial institutions, industries and the expert community are discussing the role of civil nuclear energy in addressing the main energy and climate challenges.
The Summit affords an important opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and to encourage real solutions for the safe and steady development of civil nuclear energy. Also, the forum seeks to inspire new initiatives and partnerships.
