Palm Beach County officials, community leaders and Miracle League athletes gathered on June 11 at John Prince Memorial Park to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new Miracle League Field, a significant public investment in recreation that will expand opportunities for children and individuals with disabilities throughout Palm Beach County. The project is funded by voter-approved one-penny infrastructure sales tax proceeds previously collected for park infrastructure.

The groundbreaking ceremony commemorated the start of construction on the specialized, barrier-free field that will serve athletes participating in the Miracle League of Palm Beach County, as well as other community groups and users. The project reflects a partnership between Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation and the Miracle League organization to ensure that all residents have access to the benefits of sports, recreation and community connection.

"Today's groundbreaking represents more than a new field," said Jennifer Cirillo, Director of Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation. "It represents our community's commitment to ensuring that every child and every family have the opportunity to experience the joy of play and the sense of belonging that comes through recreation. We are proud to partner with the Miracle League of Palm Beach County to create a space where all abilities are celebrated."

During the ceremony, remarks were delivered by Palm Beach County Commissioner Joel G. Flores, Deputy County Administrator Tammy K. Fields and Miracle League of Palm Beach County Co-Founder Julia Kadel. The event also featured a demonstration by Miracle League athletes and participants.
