The academy provided a unique opportunity for residents to connect with county government in a meaningful way and develop a deeper understanding of the services that support Marion County families every day. Participants learned not only how county government functions, but also about the challenges, opportunities, and partnerships that help keep Marion County a thriving community.
Graduates are encouraged to remain involved in their community through volunteer service, advisory boards, and future educational opportunities. Many Citizens Academy alumni continue their civic engagement long after graduation, helping shape the programs, services, and initiatives that impact their neighborhoods.
Looking ahead, Citizens Academy alumni will have the opportunity to continue expanding their knowledge through the Marion County Alumni Academy. The advanced program will explore the roles of Marion County's constitutional officers, Marion County Public Schools, and the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership.
More information about future Citizens Academy programs is available at MarionFL.org/CitizensAcademy or by contacting Marion County Administration at 352-438-2300.
Marion County congratulates the 2026 Citizens Academy graduates for completing the program and for choosing to be part of a more connected, informed, and engaged community.
