Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s Experts Available for Interviews at AAP 2026

Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's pediatric specialists will join child-health experts from across the country at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) 2026 National Conference and Exhibition Oct. 2-6 in San Diego.

"The pediatric physicians, scientists and caregivers of Guerin Children's are committed to transforming children's health," said Ophir Klein, MD, PhD , executive director of Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's and executive vice dean of Children's Health. "By combining outstanding multidisciplinary care with leading-edge research and education, we are building new approaches to some of the most complex challenges in pediatric medicine."

A Guerin Children's booth in the exhibit hall-Booth 2330-will showcase the institution's research, pediatric and specialty care, medical education programs, and clinical innovations. Cedars-Sinai pediatric experts attending the conference are available to comment on emerging children's health issues and new research findings.

Guerin Children's Experts Available for Interviews

Pooja Nawathe, MD , assistant director of Healthcare Simulation at Guerin Children's, is the incoming chair of the AAP Section on Critical Care Quality Improvement Committee. She is part of conference sessions on "Simulation is a Mindset" for the AAP Section on Critical Care and Simulation and Innovative Learning Methods and can discuss the ways simulation enhances patient safety and serves as a valuable tool for clinical training and medical education.

Rangasamy Ramanathan, MD, MBBS , director of Neonatology at Guerin Children's, can discuss Cedars-Sinai's launch of the first Neuro Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Los Angeles. He can also comment on the upcoming NICU fellowship at Guerin Children's and other advances in neonatology.

Kurlen Payton, MD , assistant director of Quality and Safety at Guerin Children's, will present research on a quality improvement study in a high-volume delivery center.

Theodora Stavroudis, MD , neonatologist, and Allison Henry, MD , director of newborn care, will present research on neonatal resuscitations that require additional team members. Henry can also discuss the importance of vitamin K shots for newborns and the potential downsides of refusing them.
