Scion Celebrates 25th Anniversary at Annual Leadership Summit

The Scion Group marked the company's 25th anniversary at its annual Leadership Summit from February 25-27 in Chicago. 

The event brought together nearly 430 attendees from across the US and Canada, including community general managers, regional management, central office team members, service partners and industry specialists. Under the theme "Evolve," the three-day conference featured collaborative breakouts, leadership panels, company updates and special sessions to commemorate 25 years. Team members celebrated their accomplishments, which have helped build Scion's position as the leading global owner-operator of off-campus student housing communities. 

"Our 25th anniversary Leadership Summit was more than a celebration - it was a powerful reflection of how far we've come and a bold look at how we continue to change. The theme 'Evolve' captured the entrepreneurial spirit of innovation, resilience and thought leadership that defines our ongoing journey," shared Eric Bronstein, co-founder and Chief Administrative Officer.

Breakout sessions and user labs highlighted central office team members and community leaders who engaged participants on a variety of topics, from transforming vendors into strategic partners, new uses of AI to fuel growth, crisis response training, an Excel class and even a coffee tasting featuring Scion's special blend.  

General managers from five top-performing communities shared their success strategies through documentary-style videos in areas such as NOI management, lease-up and rate management, renewal techniques and resident and employee experience.  The summit concluded with a formal awards dinner celebrating the achievements and tenure of outstanding teams and individuals. 

Keynote appearances at the conference included author and social entrepreneur, Michelle Poler, Scion's Senior Vice President of Operations, Kenny Funk, and 4-time Emmy Award winning television host, Jeff Houghton. Highlights from the event were captured in both photo and video content.
