ESU Calls for MLK Award Nominations

East Stroudsburg University is seeking nominations for its annual MLK Awards in conjunction with the 29th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration, which will be held Monday, January 19, 2026.

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to nominate individual(s) whose actions exemplify the principles of Dr. King. Nominations, which must include one letter of recommendation, can be submitted at www.esu.edu/mlk/mlk_award.

Letters of recommendation should describe, in detail, how the candidate exemplifies two or more aspects of Dr. King's ideology of non-violence, equality, justice, cultural diversity and respect for humanity.

Community-member candidates must be actively involved in Monroe County working to improve the community in ways such as advocating for education, and working with children and youth, underprivileged and underrepresented groups.

ESU faculty, staff, and administrator candidates must be currently employed by the University, and student candidates must be a current ESU student enrolled at the University for a minimum of two full-time semesters.
