Kaine Slams Trump Administration for Leaving Americans Stranded in the Middle East Amid War

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) released the following statement slamming the Trump Administration for its poor planning and coordination that has left Americans stranded in the Middle East:

"The Trump Administration waited three days after it began waging an unwise, unconstitutional, and deeply unpopular war with Iran to warn American citizens to evacuate from 12 countries in the Middle East. By that point, commercial flights were almost completely shut down, and Iran had begun firing retaliatory strikes. That lack of planning or coordination has left Americans stranded and struggling to get home as war rages around them. Now would be a great time for this Administration to actually put Americans first."
