BPD in the Community: District A-7 Hosts Members of the Harris County Sheriff’s Department from Texas to Observe Community HUB Meeting

Officers from District A-7 and our East Boston Hub team had the pleasure of hosting Captain John Legg and five members of the Harris County Sheriff's Department from Houston, Texas!

Captain Legg and his team joined us for a Hub Table meeting, where they got an inside look at the collaborative work that goes on in these confidential meetings. The captain was impressed by the impact of the Hub model, and will work to integrate a similar model in Houston.

The Hub model is all about confidential, proactive, multidisciplinary collaboration-bringing together police, social services, and community partners to work together to connect individuals and families deemed to be an elevated risk. The model is a new way of utilizing resources that are already in place in unified ways to intervene before a 911 call is required. We're thrilled to see our Hub Tables inspiring other departments and look forward to seeing the positive impact grow.
