José Manuel Albares receives Cuban Foreign Minister in Madrid

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, received Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla in Madrid at the latter's request.

The meeting addressed the current situation in Cuba following the tightening of the embargo. They also discussed the situation of Spanish companies operating in the country. Spain will provide humanitarian aid to Cuba through the United Nations system, including food and essential medical supplies, via the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

They also discussed the main objectives of the Spanish Pro Tempore Secretariat for the Ibero-American Summit, which will take place on 4 and 5 November in Madrid.
