Content creators and information professionals took part in a series of training workshops which were held in Ashgabat at the Carbon Centre of Bouygues Turkmen from 29 April to 6 May 2026.

Each workshop attracted around 30 participants, including content creators, media professionals, educators, and students, all interested in enhancing creative ideas, raising professional standards, and promoting the responsible use of modern digital tools in the era of evolving information landscape.

The workshops were organised within the framework of the EU-funded regional CARAVAN project, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan. The initiative's stated goals in Central Asia include fostering professional development, strengthening media and information literacy and encouraging responsible content creation methods.

Topics covered in the sessions included visual and narrative storytelling, the ethical considerations of content creation and production, efficient material planning and distribution, as well as the use of cutting-edge digital tools, such as AI, to creative and editorial work. The programme combined expert-led sessions with practical exercises and interactive discussions.

The workshops were delivered by experienced regional experts from Kazakhstan, bringing strong practical knowledge and expertise in contemporary content creation.

"Supporting the development of modern professional skills is an investment in human potential. A responsible approach to content creation contributes to building trust, quality, and long-term value in today's rapidly changing information environment," noted Maciej Madaliński, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation, in his opening remarks.

In addition to gaining new knowledge and skills, the workshops also served as a forum for participants from many backgrounds to network with one another and learn from each other. In order to create a fair and long-lasting media landscape, participants stressed the significance of truthfulness, accuracy, accountability, and originality.

Through media literacy training activities, the European Union supports strengthening resilience to disinformation and FIMI (foreign information manipulation and interference) and fostering sustainable media ecosystems, contributing to the development of a professional, responsible, and ethical media community.
