Digital Europe Programme amended to continue the deployment of innovative digital capacities across the EU

The Digital Europe Programme adapts to deliver for Europe's evolving digital needs.

The Digital Europe Work Programme 2025-2027 has been amended to keep pace with Europe's digital priorities.

This amendment introduces a number of new actions such as digital infrastructure for schools or an online safety application to support the EU Action plan against cyberbullying.

The amendment also ensures the programme continues to deliver for Europe's evolving digital needs. It includes a new call for Safer Internet Centres aiming to ensure wide geographical coverage across the EU and Associated countries and a new work strand for the action on multi-country European Digital Infrastructure Consortia to strengthen their collaboration.

Other changes aim to ensure the implementation of Testing and Experimentation Facilities for AI as well as for the deployment of the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format and digital health services.

There is also an amendment concerning the previous topic on Situational Awareness and Operational Centre (SAOC) to align with the European Democracy Shield.

The amendment follows the first DIGITAL amendment, adopted in October 2025, which reinforced the Commission's ambitions on developing and deploying critical technologies in Europe.
