Q1 Business Momentum Cements Proofpoint’s Position as Undisputed Leader in Human-Centric Security

The first quarter of 2025 continued Proofpoint's strong momentum, as human-centric security remains a growing priority-and increasingly a mainstream imperative-for enterprises worldwide. Cybersecurity strategies are rapidly evolving, and what began as a bold vision, our human-centric platform, has now become a foundational pillar of modern cybersecurity architecture.

In 2024, we surpassed the milestone of $2 billion in annual recurring revenue, ranking Proofpoint among the top cybersecurity companies by revenue. Q1 built upon our momentum of growth in customers, deeper adoption of our human-centric platform within our customer base and growing our overall business. Plus, we continued to bring innovations and solutions to our customers and expanded our presence in new geographies and markets. I am energized by the road ahead and confident in our ability to deliver even greater value to our customers who rely on us.

Business Momentum Continues in Q1

We saw strong results in the first quarter of 2025, with notable business highlights including:

• Continued double-digit growth in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
• Addition of 420 new enterprise organizations to our portfolio.
• Exceptional growth in our information protection business, including a major new enterprise win with 250,000+ employees using our behavior-based data loss protection.
• Strong customer interest in our new DSPM offering via the acquisition of Normalyze, with 50% growth in ARR quarter over quarter.
• Continued strong customer retention rate of over 90%, with customers leaning into longer duration contracts while adopting deeper value of our human-centric platform.

The Best Email Protection now available via API

In Q1, we launched our Core Email Protection API solution, delivering best-in-class, Nexus-powered threat defense through an easy-to-deploy and operate solution using Microsoft Graph API. I'm excited about the momentum we're seeing-successful evaluations and customer POCs are already underway, opening new opportunities to serve an even broader set of customers in the future.

Proofpoint and Microsoft: A Blueprint for Human-Centric Security

In today's complex threat landscape, where people-not infrastructure-are the primary targets, we believe cybersecurity must evolve to meet the moment. Earlier this year, we announced an expanded global strategic alliance with Microsoft. Together, we're delivering a powerful, scalable, and intelligent blueprint for human-centric security-one that integrates our respective strengths to help organizations stay ahead of modern threats.

This includes integrations with advanced AI capabilities of Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Copilot, enabling security teams to automate response, enrich analytics, and better protect sensitive data. With our Nexus intelligence technologies layered in-combining AI models, behavioral analysis, and threat intel-we are delivering advanced, preventive protection where it matters most: at the human layer.

Bolstering Strategic Expertise with New Board Appointment

In March 2025, we welcomed new leaders who will help support and scale our human-centric security vision. Mark Templeton, the newest member of Proofpoint's Board of Directors, is a true pioneer in the evolution of virtual workplaces-having led Citrix through a transformative era where the boundaries of how, when, and where people work were redefined. His visionary leadership helped shape the very foundation of the digital workspace, and his influence is still felt across the industry today.

Mark's profound understanding of how technology empowers people aligns perfectly with our mission to protect users and defend data-everywhere work happens.

Celebrating Recognition and Market Validation

Proofpoint's product leadership and visionary corporate excellence have been recognized multiple times in 2025. Industry analysts once again ranked Proofpoint #1 in four out of five use cases in the 2025 Gartner Critical Capabilities Report for Email Security Platforms. Additionally, Proofpoint was named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrants for Email Security 2024 and Digital Communications Governance 2025.

Over the course of the quarter, Proofpoint earned 18 additional awards from respected media outlets and industry programs, including recognition as one of CRN's 20 hottest cybersecurity AI Companies and winner of Best Data Security at the 2025 Globee Awards for Cybersecurity.
