Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei Attends Spain's National Day Reception

On October 10, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei, upon invitation, attended Spain's National Day reception hosted by the Embassy of Spain in China.

Hong Lei extended congratulations on Spain's National Day, and stated that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain. The two countries have maintained close high-level exchanges and achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation. China is ready to work with Spain to enhance mutual trust, deepen cooperation, and bring the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain to a new level. He expressed the hope that Spain will encourage the European Union (EU) to remain committed to the partnership, adhere to dialogue and consultation, defend multilateralism, and support the sustained, sound and stable development of China-EU relations.

Spanish Ambassador to China Marta Betanzos Roig said that in recent years, Spain-China relations have maintained steady development, with exchanges and cooperation in various fields actively advancing. Spain hopes to work closely with China, strengthen communication and cooperation, and consolidate the positive momentum in the development of Spain-China and EU-China relations, so as to benefit the peoples of both sides.
