Our Commitment to Vaccinations

Ensuring access to preventive care, including vaccines, is at the center of helping our members achieve their best health. Please encourage your patients to get a flu shot.

Horizon's coverage policies concerning immunizations are not changing. Traditional flu shots are covered with no out-of-pocket cost when members visit an in-network doctor or retail pharmacy. All flu shots approved by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) are covered this season.

Please note that the new mFLUSIVA^® vaccine is not covered by Horizon based on ACIP recommendations.

You maintain responsibility for verifying member's covered benefits before providing services. We'd like to remind you that you should not directly bill Horizon NJ Health members for any balance due on medical claims for medically necessary, covered services.
