New Courtesy Dock Completed in Campbell County

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and Campbell County have completed the installation of a new courtesy dock at the Davis Cemetery Access Area. The partnership is the conclusion of a project that has been in the works for several years.

Highlighting the value of local and state partnerships, Campbell County provided the $25,000 match funding to TWRA's $75,000 in federal Sportfish Restoration grant funding for the construction of the dock system at a low cost to the local community. The new dock is fully ADA accessible and offers the first wheelchair accessible dock on the Campbell County portion of Norris Lake. This is the latest collaboration between TWRA and Campbell County, which have partnered on several projects in recent years.

"TWRA is committed to creating accessible opportunities for Tennesseans to enjoy fishing and boating on state waterways," said TWRA Director of Public Relations Emily Buck. "We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Campbell County to invest in outdoor recreation and are proud to see this project implemented in a community where families can make new memories together in the outdoors."

"We are thankful for our partnership with TWRA over the years, said Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch. "This courtesy dock is the culmination of a grant that our commissioners worked on years ago. The charge was led by former 1^st District Commissioner Robert Higginbotham and carried into existence by 3^rd District Commissioner Rusty Orick, our liaison with TWRA."

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is responsible for protecting, managing, and conserving fish and wildlife species for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors. The Agency also maintains public safety through law enforcement and safety education on waterways.
