Occident has launched Double Protection Home insurance, a new solution that combines home insurance with a connected alarm system from Movistar Prosegur Alarmas in a single proposal, with the price of the insurance premium and the alarm service fee fixed for the first three years.
Enhanced protection against current home risks
Home security has become one of people's main concerns, especially in recent years. According to data from the Ministry of the Interior, burglaries continue to be among the most significant crimes, and reports of illegal occupation in Spain exceeded 16,400 cases in 2024.
In this context, Double Protection Home reinforces the home insurance response to illegal occupation, incorporating, without an increase in price, certain specific coverage, such as the intermediation fees necessary to facilitate the process of vacating the property, compensation for utilities and cleaning services after the recovery of the home.
This coverage is integrated together with the other guarantees related to illegal occupation already included in Occident home insurance, such as lock replacement, legal claims and defence, the cost of alternative accommodation as a result of uninhabitability or coverage for damages due to vandalism, in addition to the usual protections against material damages and family civil liability.
24/7 connected alarm system
The solution is completed with the incorporation of a Movistar Prosegur Alarmas security system, connected 24 hours a day to its Alarm Centre, with immediate response, notification to the police if an intrusion is confirmed and dispatch of a security guard for immediate intervention.
The service includes installation by specialist technicians and maintenance for the entire life of the contract. The security system incorporates state-of-the-art technology, such as detectors with HD cameras, an uninterruptible power supply system in case of power outages, and simple, centralised management from a single app.
In addition, it includes standard personal security outside the home, through an SOS button, which allows you to send video and audio to request help from your mobile phone and immediately activate an emergency protocol. It also offers geolocation tracking features in risky situations, extending protection beyond the home.
All of this is backed by a company recognised by its customers as a leader in experience, with the best ratings on TrustPilot, Google and the OCU and awarded by the Spanish Association of Experts in Customer Relations.
Fixed price for three years
Double Protection Home insurance is envisaged as a comprehensive solution that combines home insurance and a security system, with the added bonus of maintaining a fixed price for three years in both products, thus providing stability and predictability to the customer.
In the words of Sergio López, Director of Personal Insurance at Occident, 'with this new solution we are taking another step in our commitment to comprehensive home protection, combining complete coverage against illegal occupation with advanced technology to offer our customers greater peace of mind.' He also noted that 'the collaboration with Movistar Prosegur Alarmas allows us to develop innovative proposals that respond to the real security needs of homes in terms of security.'
For his part, Fernando Saldaña, CCO of Movistar Prosegur Alarmas, explained that the collaboration with Occident 'represents a significant step forward in the integration of connected security solutions within an insurance framework, allowing the alignment of technological and operational capabilities in a joint model.' He also highlighted that this alliance 'reinforces the company's strategy of establishing agreements with leading entities to promote developments that respond to emerging risks and to the evolution of the residential environment.'
