WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Val Hoyle (OR-04) released the following statement after voting "Present" on Republican's partisan House Resolution 719.
"Political violence has no place in our society. From the murders of Charlie Kirk to the Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota - it's time for leaders to lower the temperature and work together. This is why I strongly support Congressman Veasey's resolution that condemns these threats straight on. I am disappointed that House Republicans rushed forward with a divisive, partisan version that failed to meet that standard. I voted 'present' because I will not legitimize a partisan messaging exercise designed to divide us further."
