Warren Statement on Federal Judge Upholding Temporary Protected Status for Haitians

Washington, D.C. - Following a federal court ruling blocking the Trump administration's attempt to revoke Temporary Protected Status (TPS) from hundreds of thousands of Haitians across the country, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) released the following statement:

"Today's decision makes clear that the Trump administration cannot end TPS protections for Haitians tomorrow. TPS holders are here legally, and they have legal status because the U.S. government made a promise to protect people from ongoing conflict and unimaginable violence. Families shouldn't be separated, our neighbors shouldn't be ripped from their homes, and businesses shouldn't lose their staff at Trump's whim. While Haiti remains unsafe, we must continue to protect mommas and babies who are TPS recipients from being sent into a war zone. The Trump administration must follow the law and not cancel TPS protections tomorrow."
