USDA Announces Nearly $350,000 for Four Nevada Producers to Expand Value‐Added Agricultural Markets

(Carson City, Nev., October 14, 2026) - U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Nevada State Director Alida Ceballos announced today that USDA will invest $349,138 in four value-added agriculture projects across Nevada. The funding is provided through USDA's Value-Added Producer Grant program (VAPG).

"The Trump-Vance Administration is putting farmers and ranchers first and showcasing American-grown products to the world. Nevada has not had a VAPG awardee in over four years, and Nevada agricultural producers are finally receiving much needed support to expand their outreach and impact," Ceballos said, "These funds will support a wide array of innovative and regenerative farming efforts-from an indoor organic farm, to producing direct-to-consumer beef products, to expanding ranch raised beef operations. USDA Rural Development is proud to showcase these initiatives that support rural Nevada producers as they generate new revenue streams, reshore American beef production, strengthen local economies, and enhance access to high-quality agricultural products."

Recently, Agriculture Secretary Brooke L. Rollins announced over $26 million awarded to farmers and agricultural producers across the country.

In Nevada, four agricultural producers are awarded:

  • Perigo Hay & Cattle in Ely, is a family-owned ranch raising 100% Black Angus, hormone-free beef. The ranch is receiving a $150,000 grant, which, along with matching funds, will expand its established ranch-raised beef operation by retaining and finishing additional cattle for processing and sale as packaged beef products.
  • Brough Ranch Beef in Wells is a multi-generational ranch raising American Wagyu and Angus Beef. Brough Ranch Beef will receive $89,000 in federal grant funds, paired with contributor matching funds, for working capital to increase production and marketing of its value-added Wagyu and Angus beef and beef jerky products
  • Big Dipper Sunrise Ranch in Wellington is a family-owned ranch raising range-fed beef along the Pinenut Mountain Range. The ranch will use a $60,138 grant, along with matching funds, to support increased production and sales of direct-to-consumer beef products, including beef jerky.
  • 702Greens in Las Vegas specializes in organically grown microgreens with no pesticides or GMOs on an indoor farm in Las Vegas. They will receive $50,000 in VAPG funds to complete a feasibility study, business plan, and marketing plan to expand their residential subscription program, paired with cash matching funds from the recipient.

Applications for the Value-Added Producer Grant program are typically accepted for processing from agricultural producers between January and May, depending on when program funding is allocated.
