Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Minister of Social Development of Panama during the 2025 HLPF

On 22 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mrs. Beatriz Carles de Arango, Minister of Social Development of Panama during the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2025 (HLPF) at the United Nations Headquarters.

Both sides exchanged views on advancing sustainable development with Panama emphasizing poverty and inequality reduction within its country. The Panamanian side commended Thailand's approach to economic development that connects local communities to the global stage, as reflected in the "Local to Global - Empowering Communities through Upcycled Innovation for Sustainable Growth" exhibition at the United Nations Headquarters. In this regard, the Thai side expressed its readiness to exchange knowledge and best practices through development cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides also affirmed their readiness to work together at the United Nations, with the Thai side congratulating Panama on its upcoming presidency of the United Nations Security Council for August 2025.
