Tyler to improve neighborhood streets through 2026 Asphalt Enhancement Project

The streets people use every day close to home are the focus of the 2026 Asphalt Enhancement Project.

This year's work will target about 20 miles of neighborhood streets across Tyler, refreshing worn pavement and creating a smoother ride. Crews will remove the top layer of asphalt and replace it with a new surface, helping extend the life of each roadway and reduce the need for more costly repairs later.

The City Council approved a $3,728,915.15 contract with Reynolds and Kay for the Asphalt Enhancement Project. Construction is expected to begin as early as April 2026 and continue through November 2026, weather permitting.
