PBC Animal Care and Control Needs to Empty 50 Kennels by Saturday

Palm Beach County Public Safety Department Animal Care and Control Division (PBCACC) is not only the sole open admission shelter for the entirety of Palm Beach County, but it is also the only entity for the county that takes in pets that are a part of open investigations regarding cruelty and neglect.

As of Wednesday, April 23, 2025, PBCACC had 192 dogs in the shelter with only 144 kennels, and there are three more dogs on the way that are involved in an open investigation. The shelter is overcrowded and in desperate need of support from the community as more animals continue to come in every day.

PBCACC is in dire need of support and is asking the community to help empty 50 kennels by Saturday, April 26, by adopting or fostering from the shelter.

This month, adoption fees at the shelter are waived in an effort to promote all of the wonderful, adoptable shelter pets.

Can't adopt right now, but want to help? Try fostering! PBCACC offers short-term foster programs from as little as seven to 10 days with all the necessary supplies provided through the shelter.

Clearing 50 kennels by Saturday will not only save the lives of pets rescued from cruelty and neglect, but also the lives of the pets who find new homes through adoption and fostering.

PBCACC is dedicated to promoting the health, safety and welfare of both people and animals in the community.
