The following statements have been issued by SBE Council President & CEO Karen Kerrigan on the various titles of the reconciliation bill moving through the U.S. House of Representatives. (Please check back for an updated list of statements.)
Statement of Support for Ways and Means Committee "One Big, Beautiful Bill"

Statement of Support for the Transportation and Infrastructure Title
"SBE Council commends the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for advancing a reconciliation proposal that includes funding for critical investments to modernize our nation's air traffic control (ATC) system. A reliable ATC system is vital to U.S. commerce and competitiveness, providing essential support to small businesses that depend on a well-functioning airspace for efficient travel, cargo transport, and timely delivery of goods." Statement of Support for the Natural Resources Committee Title
"SBE Council applauds the House Committee on Natural Resources for advancing a package that will empower America's small businesses to lead the way in energy production, innovation, and job creation. With 96% of employer firms in the oil and gas extraction sector having fewer than 100 employees, small businesses are the backbone of the energy industry. By reinstating quarterly onshore oil and gas lease sales, reducing burdensome royalty rates, expanding exploration and drilling opportunities, and cutting regulatory red tape, this package will restore certainty for small energy producers, create jobs, and lower energy costs for all small businesses." Statement of Support for Judiciary Committee Title
"SBE Council is pleased that the House Judiciary Committee's reconciliation title includes important reforms to improve the federal rulemaking process, strengthen accountability, and in the end reduce regulatory burdens on small businesses. By providing $20 billion in funding to improve regulatory accountability, review and transparency, reforms provided by the legislation will ensure that federal regulatory agencies are conducting their required work in considering the impact of proposed rules on entrepreneurs and small businesses. These reforms are essential to fostering a competitive business environment, and promoting investment and innovation. A policy ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship and small business growth is one that does not erect unnecessary regulatory barriers or maintain outdated rules that engulf small businesses with costs or hurdles that prevent them from growing and succeeding."Read the full statement here.
Statement of Support for Financial Services Committee Title
"The Financial Services Committee has appropriately focused on needed reforms and actions that promote fiscal responsibility and the right-sizing of government. Pruning the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's draw from the Federal Reserve is a suitable step to help refocus the bureau's work in areas where it has the authority to act, rather than the wide-ranging and excessive rulemakings it pursued during the past four years that undermined small businesses. In addition, consolidating Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) functions within the Securities and Exchange Commission is a common-sense streamlining move that promotes efficiency and will lead to needed reforms that reduce burdens on smaller companies."
