The City of Lewisville will dedicate its newest piece of public art, Endless Tread, during a special ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 14, 5 p.m., at the corner of Mill Street and Valley Ridge Boulevard, along the DCTA Trail..
Endless Tread, created by artist Christina Bridges, honors the skilled workers whose contributions often go unnoticed, reminding us that every destination begins with the dedication of those who keep us safe on the road.
The piece was installed in June. It transforms more than 50 discarded automobile tires into an abstract Mobius-inspired sculpture. Wrapped with tires, the intertwined form evokes a continuous loop with no clear beginning or end, symbolizing the unending cycle of maintenance, service, and reliability that sustains our public safety every day. The visible tire treads preserve the object's original purpose while creating a rich texture that conveys energy and momentum.
Endless Tread was made possible through an ongoing collaboration with University of North Texas College of Visual Art and Design. The relationship between the City of Lewisville and UNT-CVAD allows student artists the opportunity to create permanent public art works for the community, helping to build the students' portfolios of artistic accomplishments while enhancing and expanding the City's Public Art Collection. Other works in the City's collection created through this program include

murals at
LLELA,
