Job Description
The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research in their specialized field while actively contributing to interdisciplinary research initiatives within IMRAM.
In addition to their research responsibilities, the candidate will participate in education and student supervision as a collaborative faculty member in either the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, specifically within the Department of Frontier Sciences for Advanced Environment (Applied Environmental Chemistry Course), or in one of the departments within the Graduate School of Engineering, including Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biomolecular Engineering.
The role also involves engagement in undergraduate education within the School of Engineering as required. This position emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and leadership in advanced materials and energy-related research.

The Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM) aims to address major global challenges - including energy, resources, the environment, health, and food - through interdisciplinary research grounded in materials science and advanced measurement. A central focus is reducing dependence on fossil fuels by advancing chemistry-related innovations, such as improving the efficiency of energy generation and storage technologies and developing methods to convert biomass and waste plastics into fuels within a sustainable carbon cycle. At the same time, emerging issues - such as the large-scale disposal and recycling of solar panels and batteries - highlight the growing need to tackle interconnected energy and environmental challenges.
