Toledo-based artist and 2025 UToledo alumnus Liam Ginter works on a new native plant mural inside Carlson Library. The collaborative experiential learning project, which bridges art, science and sustainability, depicts Lucas County's rare oak prairie biome and native flowering plants.

Currently a work in progress, the mural is slated to open following the conclusion of the spring semester. The artwork will serve as a focal point for upcoming library programming, including a sustainability summit scheduled Thursday, April 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.
