The European Union and the UN's International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) are very close partners when it comes to supporting rural development, sustainable agrifood systems and Ukraine, which became a member of IFAD in December 2024.

Ambassador Martin Selmayr was very happy to welcome IFAD President Alvaro Lario at the EU Heads of Missions meeting at Villa Europa in Rome for an exchange of view with the Permanent Representatives of the 27 EU Member States on strategic priorities, the UN80 process and our future close cooperation.
