Heavy Traffic and Road Closures Expected During Memorial Day Weekend

Beginning Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25, 2026, the 66th Annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival will take place at Village Green Park, located at 12732 Main Street. Heavy traffic and road closures are expected throughout the four-day event, and motorists are encouraged to plan ahead.

Main Street, between Garden Grove Boulevard and Euclid Street, will be closed from Friday, May 22, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. through Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. for festival activities.

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the following streets will be closed for the 2026 Strawberry Stomp 5K and the Strawberry Festival Parade:

• Acacia Parkway, from Grove Avenue to 9th St.
• 9th Street, between Garden Grove Blvd. and Orangewood Avenue
• Chapman Avenue, between West Street and Nutwood Street
• Euclid Street, between Orangewood Avenue and Garden Grove Boulevard

No vehicles will be permitted to drive or park on closed streets until the 5K and parade have ended. "NO PARKING" signs will be posted in affected areas, and resident have been notified in advance. Vehicles found on the street after 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, will be towed and impounded.

Suggested alternate routes during the 5K and parade include Katella Avenue or Garden Grove Boulevard for east and west traffic, and Brookhurst Street or West Street for north and south traffic.
