MN Bio-Fuels Wraps Up 2026 Unleaded 88 Promotional Campaign, Helping Drivers Save At The Pump

Burnsville, Oct 29 - The Minnesota Bio-Fuels Association (MN Bio-Fuels) recently concluded a successful seven-month Unleaded 88 campaign across retail gas stations in the Twin Cities metro area to help motorists find relief at the pump.

As gas prices climbed amid the conflict in Iran, MN Bio-Fuels kicked off the Unleaded 88 campaign on April 15 at a Holiday station in White Bear Lake and concluded it yesterday at a Prime Oil station in Minneapolis.

Throughout the seven-month campaign, MN Bio-Fuels hosted interactive promotional events at retail stations in Bloomington, Burnsville, Inver Grove Heights, Minneapolis, New Hope, Plymouth, St. Paul Park, Vadnais Heights, and White Bear Lake, directly engaging with over 300 drivers on the benefits of fueling up with Unleaded 88.

"Consumers have been feeling the pocketbook squeeze at the pump first-hand throughout 2026. That's why we have been on the ground this year talking to drivers about a homegrown fuel option that saves them money. Unleaded 88 - or E15 - is a proven, readily available option at more than 550 retail locations around the state. In a time of cost pressures, Minnesotans deserve to know that Unleaded 88 (E15) is a lower-priced fuel option that can help ease the strain on their budgets," said Brian Werner, executive director at MN Bio-Fuels.

A statewide survey released in August by Morning Consult and MN Bio-Fuels revealed that 80 percent of Minnesotans are concerned about gas prices while 68 percent support the availability of Unleaded 88 year-round on a permanent basis.

Data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce shows that Unleaded 88 was priced, on average, $0.14 per gallon less than regular 87 octane fuel from January through August of this year.

With 95.95 million gallons of Unleaded 88 sold during that eight-month period, this price advantage translated to $13.43 million in savings for Minnesota drivers.

These savings have become an economic trend in Minnesota since 2013.

A study released earlier this year revealed that Unleaded 88 has saved Minnesotans over $80 million at the pump since 2013, with cumulative savings projected to surpass $272 million by 2030.
