Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Zhang Jianwei Meets with UN Resident Coordinator in Kuwait Ghada Hatim Eltahir Mudawi

On September 9, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with UN Resident Coordinator in Kuwait Ms. Ghada Hatim Eltahir Mudawi. They exchanged their views on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and other issues.

Ambassador Zhang Jianwei briefed the coordinator on the historic results of China's endeavors to accomplish poverty alleviation on schedule, implement the new development philosophy and improve the people's quality of life. He highlighted that guided by the Global Development Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, China upholds true multilateralism, firmly defends the international system with the UN at its core, and firmly supports the UN in playing a bigger role in international affairs. China will continue to play an active role in ensuring the attaining of the sustainable development goals as scheduled and building a global community of development.

For her part, Ghada spoke highly of China's positive contributions to global sustainable development and expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation, coordination and experience sharing with the Chinese side and join hands to tackle global challenges and accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
