Mount Washington Firehall Official Broke Ground

Courtenay, BC - On May 28, 2026 the Comox Valley Regional District officially broke ground on the Mount Washington Firehall. The CVRD has been working to construct a firehall building since 2021 that would directly support the emergency response and protection for the community.

"I am thrilled to see this project start construction," explains Electoral Area C Director Edwin Grieve. "As the community continues to grow along with increased wildfire risks, the needs for this firehall are vital to the residents."
