On January 13, the handover ceremony for fast crafts donated by China to Solomon Islands was held at the Maritime Police Wharf. Chinese Ambassador H.E. Cai Weiming,Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Hon. Jimson Tanangada, and other 30 representatives including the Chinese Police Liaison Team attended the event.
Ambassador Cai stated that the handover of two fast crafts from China to Solomon Islands is a concrete achievement in implementing the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries. The fast crafts will effectively support Solomon Islands in combating maritime-related crimes, strengthening maritime patrols and control, and safeguarding its territorial waters and maritime sovereignty. China will continue to support Solomon Islands in enhancing its capacity to independently maintain public security, in line with the principle of the "Four Full Respects."
Hon. Minister Jimson Tananagada expressed his gratitude for China's support in strengthening the capacity-building of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), reaffirmed commitment to the one-China principle, and stated that the country will continue to promote deeper bilateral cooperation across various fields.
Liu Shenghuang, Commissioner of the Chinese Police Liaison Team and Lenialu, Supervising Commissioner of RSIPF, signed the handover certificate. Guests boarded the boats and set sail, experiencing the impressive performance and powerful propulsion of the brand-new vessels.
