Cary, NC - On June 17, Global Garbage Man Day, Cary recognizes and celebrates the dedicated Solid Waste collection staff who help keep the community clean, safe, and sustainable every day of the year. From early morning routes to year-round collection services, these employees provide reliable service that residents depend on. Cary's Solid Waste team collects garbage, recycling, yard waste, cooking oil, and motor oil, as well as bulky items and appliances, and manages the community's annual loose leaf collection season.
Support Solid Waste collection crews by properly placing carts at the curb, keeping collection areas free of obstacles, setting carts out on time, and ensuring lids close completely.
Use the Cary Collects web tool and mobile app to view collection schedules and learn how to properly dispose of thousands of household items. Request most curbside special pickups by contacting Cary 311.
Solid Waste Collection By the Numbers"Global Garbage Man Day is an opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of our Solid Waste collection staff," said Jesse Troublefield, Solid Waste Division Manager. "Their commitment ensures our neighborhoods remain clean while supporting Cary's sustainability goals and exceptional service standards."
As Cary celebrates Global Garbage Man Day, the community is encouraged to join in thanking the professionals who work behind the scenes to keep Cary running smoothly every day.
