Unexpected Pollinators of Raleigh Parks: It's What's on the Inside That Counts

Raleigh Parks and Natural Resources supports pollinators by preserving and managing existing habitats, connecting those habitats together, providing abundant flowering plants, limiting pesticide use, and engaging with our community. From wildflowers along our greenway trails to a four-acre sunflower field at Dix Park, we make sure our parks welcome all pollinators-even those you wouldn't expect. Protecting and Supporting Our Pollinator Populations

Pollinators are in decline worldwide due to habitat loss and climate change. With over 10,000 acres of green space, 220 parks, and 120 miles of greenway trail, Raleigh Parks and Natural Resources has a great opportunity tosupport and protect our pollinators. As you are out and about, look for our pollinator protection signs, located at our wildflower plantings throughout the city.

The City of Raleigh is also a Bee City USA! We reach out to our broader community to foster support for pollinators by hosting events, engaging with volunteers, and creating pollinator habitat each year.
