On April 29, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a commercial business in the 1000 block of St. Mary's Road for the report of a stabbing.
Upon arriving on scene, East District General Patrol officers located a 38-year-old male victim, suffering from an upper body injuries consistent with being stabbed. The victim was transported to hospital by WFPS in unstable condition, and later upgraded to stable.
A male youth suspect was located by officers in the immediate vicinity and was arrested without incident. Upon searching the suspect, a folding knife was located and seized by police.
The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.
Investigators learned through investigation that the victim, being used as a food delivery service, was sitting in the driver's seat of his vehicle when the suspect attempted to gain access to the rear door. The victim exited and confronted the suspect, where a verbal argument ensued, resulting in the suspect stabbing the victim in the upper body with a large folding knife. The victim fled to a nearby commercial business were police were summoned. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
