The Royal Consulate-General in Kolkata organized a merit-making ceremony in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother on the occasion of the one-hundredth day following Her Majesty's passing

On 31 January 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-Gereral in Kolkata organized a merit-making ceremony (Thaksinanupathan) to dedicate merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother of Thailand on the occasion of the one-hundredth day following Her Majesty's passing. The ceremony featured a traditional altar with the Royal Portrait of Her Majesty and ceremonial praying. Consul-General Siriporn Tantipanyathep, together with the officials of the Royal Thai Consulate-Gereral in Kolkata, participated in the merit-making activities, which included Buddhist chanting and meditation, to pay homage and dedicate merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.

On the same occasion and in collaboration with "Wat Thai Buddah Gaya" Temple in Gaya, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata also organized a merit-making ceremony (Thaksinanupathan) for Thai local communities.
