METROPOLIS, IL - State Representative Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) issued the following statement in response to news of Charlie Kirk being shot during an event in Utah today.

"I am deeply saddened to learn that Charlie Kirk has been shot while speaking at a Utah college event this afternoon. My prayers are with Charlie and his wife and children. I condemn this act of violence, which should not be a part of politics. We should work to resolve our differences through discussion and dialogue, not violence."
