Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) Strengthens Leadership with Key Executive Appointments

Los Angeles, CA - The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) is pleased to announce the appointment of two distinguished industry veterans to its executive team: Suket Dayal as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Marcie Vega as Director of Assisted Housing Programs.

These strategic appointments come at a pivotal time as HACLA continues to scale its mission to expand affordable housing, invest in people, and create sustainable pathways to opportunity for the residents of Los Angeles.

Suket Dayal Named Chief Administrative Officer
In his new role, Mr. Dayal will oversee HACLA's core operational infrastructure, including IT, Finance, Legal, General Services, Grants and Labor & Employee Relations. He joins HACLA from the San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC), where he served as Executive Vice President of Business Administration and Chief Financial Officer. With a background managing a $700+ million annual budget and leading multi-disciplinary teams. His experience spans finance, information technology, enterprise risk management, strategic planning, advocacy and labor negotiations.

"His track record in technology transformation, affordable housing, and human resources will be instrumental as a we continue to enhance and modernize our operations to better serve our growing communities."

Marcie Vega Appointed Director of Assisted Housing Programs
Ms. Vega will lead large-scale operations for the Section 8 Department, focusing on optimizing program delivery and enhancing support for thousands of voucher holders and property owners throughout the City of Los Angeles.

She transitions to HACLA from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where she served as Regional Public Housing Director with oversight of 187 public housing authorities providing housing assistance to 600,000 households across multiple states. With over 20 years of leadership in public housing and rental subsidy programs, Ms. Vega brings a deep understanding of the federal frameworks that power HACLA's work. Her career has been defined by a commitment to maximizing voucher utilization and ensuring housing stability for families.

"Her energy and expertise leading our Section 8 Department as we work to strengthen housing stability and expand access to our low-income residents will be critically important.
