PONTIAC, Mich. - Scott Aloysius Brown, 41; William Creasy, 35; Christopher Matacia, 35; and Deonte Prophett, 34, all residents of Cincinnati, were sentenced Thursday to life without parole for the murder of Pontiac businessman and Commerce Township resident Sam Simko.
On January 13, 2025, Simko was killed after Creasy arranged a meeting with him as part of a plan by the four men to rob Simko and his business. During a struggle, Prophett fired two rounds from a pistol, killing Simko.
"For Sam Simko's loved ones, his murder is a permanent loss," said Prosecutor McDonald. "Appropriately, his killers will spend the rest of their lives paying for the life they took from his family and friends."
Brown, Creasy, and Matacia were convicted on April 23 of Felony Murder and Armed Robbery.
Prophett was convicted in a separate trial on April 21 of Felony Murder, Armed Robbery, two counts of Felony-Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.
